Our award-winning, 32,000 square foot, two-level hospital was specifically designed for the provision of specialty, emergency and critical veterinary care. Maximum efficiency for both patient and client comfort were goals in its design. It houses two spacious waiting areas with a refreshment center connecting both lobbies. There are 16 patient examination/consultation rooms, four surgical suites, a separate dental/oral surgical suite, 2 digital radiology (x-ray) suites, southern Arizona's first magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit for pets, a helical CT scanner, two ultrasound suites, an endoscopy suite and a large, open central ICU with separate wards for cats, large dogs, small dogs and critical care patients enclosed behind glass so they are easily monitored and cared for by the doctor and nursing staff, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have a large, in-house laboratory as well as a specially designed area for the safe and protected use of radioactive iodine treatment. All of the examination rooms are equipped with computers for retrieval of patient information and presentation of digital diagnostic images, and a large, 125 seat auditorium for continuing education seminars. We have two designated "comfort" rooms and a memorial garden which provides a peaceful and home-like environment for patient visitation or saying goodbye to a beloved pet.
VSCT is also the first multi-specialty emergency veterinary center in Arizona to utilize solar energy as a renewable energy source in an effort to reduce our environmental impact.
If you are ever in the area, please don't hesitate to stop by and ask for a tour.
Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson is located at the southwest corner of River and La Canada Drive behind the Walgreen's drug store.
