Neurology and Neurosurgery

Pets can suffer a wide array of neurological disorders from epilepsy to brain tumors. And while the diagnosis of a neurological disorder can be emotional and challenging, Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson has Southern Arizona’s only veterinarian with advanced training in veterinary neurology, Dr. Cody Alcott, who has specific experience in diagnosing and treating these diseases. Once diagnosed, many of these diseases are treatable with good outcomes. Some common problems encompassed in the field of neurology are epilepsy, ruptured disks, spinal and head injuries, meningitis, neuromuscular disorders and cancer of the nervous system.

The nervous system, comprising the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, is a very complex and sensitive system. The Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques and advanced imaging to examine the nervous system structures.
