Dr. Holly Meltesen

Dr. Holly Meltesen, DVM, is an Emergency Veterinarian at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson. 

Dr. Meltesen grew up in New Jersey, but moved out west early and has lived here ever since. She has always loved animals and her first degree is in Fine Arts, where all of her artwork is about the human-animal bond.

She graduated from Colorado State University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology degree and in 2011 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She then did a rotating internship in Tampa, FL at BluePearl. She worked as an emergency veterinarian for several years at various clinics before deciding to do a surgical internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina. Then another surgical internship at Southwest Veterinary Surgical Services in Tucson, Arizona, before going back to her first love of emergency medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Meltesen paints murals, rides her horse and hangs out with her two dogs.
